Apple is set to unveil the new iPhone next week. It has organized a special event called, “Let’s Talk iPhone” and has invited media. But the rather cryptic invitation does not mention whether Apple will announce the iPhone 5 or it will launch the iPhone 4S with some new features. Many market experts believe that the iPhone 5 is still in the works and Apple may as of now just launch iPhone 4 with iOS5.

But Apple is known to surprise and chances are that the event on 4th Oct may see an announce on iPhone 5 along with many other important updates. Here’s a image of the Apple event invitation sent to the media:

iPhone 5 release date is the most talk about topic among tech geeks and apple fans. The market is flooded with rumors about the expected release date of iPhone 5. Previously, September 5th was claimed to be the iPhone 5 release date and now it is said to be October 21st, 2011.

So, will Apple really launch iPhone 5 on Oct 21st? Personally, I believe that Apple will launch the Iphone 5 on or before 21st Oct. Apple plans to sell 30 million iphone 5 before the end of the year and for that to happen it has to release iPhone 5 as soon as possible. October marks a peak holiday season and people start their shopping for christmas and releasing iPhone 5 in october would really help the sales as iPhone 5 will figure in the wishlist of many.

So lets hope that Apple launches iPhone 5 as soon as possible and iPhone 5 comes with all the rumored iPhone 5 specs. That will make the iphone 5 the best smartphone ever.

The Mystery of Sushi – Was Apple Engineer Sushi Snap was taken with an iPhone 5

Yesterday, a Sushi snap was discovered on Apple engineers Flickr account and it added fuel to the ongoing iPhone 5 features rumors and speculations. What’s so special about the Sushi snap you may ask?

The sushi snap on flickr account of Apple software engineer Anton D’Auria was first discovered by Pocketnow and it is the EXIF data (Exchangeable Image File Format) that has sparked a row of speculations. First thing to notice is that according to the EXIF data the original picture resolution was 3264×2448, that means it was taken from an 8megapixel camera and then it was cropped to 2235×2291, around 5 megapixels. The EXIF data claims that this snap was taken from iPhone 4 but as we all know iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera and so it wouldn’t be capable of taking a 3264×2448 snap.

Secondly, the EXIF data shows that the pic was taken from a 4.3mm f2.4 lens – while the iPhone 4 has a 3.85mm f2.8 camera lens.

And lastly the GPS data reveals that the photo was taken at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, California and it is where the Apple’s Headquarter is located.

It is also important to note that EXIF data cannot be trusted 100% and it can be manipulated too, but personally I don’t think an Apple employee would take so much pain to manipulate the data. Some even deem this as a publicity stunt by Apple, but do Apple really need publicity. When already the market is rife with iPhone 5 rumors.

Compared to previous version of iPhone, the iPhone5 is having 3G and 4G features, which consumes battery. Keeping this in mind, talk time upto 14 hours on 3G and 7 hours in case of 4G is given. Whereas, the standby time of iPhone5 is expected to be 600 hours, to increase its battery life. The previous versions have comparatively less battery time than iPhone5. Hence, it will be easy for people to stay connected for long time, even while travelling.

Though, all the specification is just stated according to predictions, we may expect something new from time to time from Apple. Buzz in iPhone market also says that cheaper iPhone models can also be introduced by Apple. However, it is better to wait until it is launched.
